American food.

I made some (modified) buffalo wing sauce and slathered it on a pile of chicken breast strips that I had fried. Sure, if I inhale as I am bringing a bite to my mouth, it burns the lungs a little. But it is SO good. Greasy, spicy, hot tender goodness. Hell yeah.

Lazybones has been at work since early this afternoon and he won’t be home until early morning. This means that the kids and I won’t get to go watch fireworks, and since Lazy is working TOMORROW too, we aren’t going to take them to the carnival. Kinda sucks. They hate fireworks (scared them to death last year) but they would love playing.

Happy 4th of July, everyone. Freedom’s a lovely thing.

  1. What? They have fireworks in Italy on the 4th?

Sorry about the low-key night, but congrats on the spicy goodness. (since I’m at the computer, this also means that I’m having a low-key night. Doesn’t get dark until 10, and Jake’s been in bed for 2 hours already. No fireworks for us, either.)

Thanks for keeping me free, S.

    Happy 4th.

  2. prolly on the american base, they have them. the 4th isn’t celebrated here in England, but one of the bases close to me had a carnival and a fireworks show. the military usually tries to do stuff on big holidays so the kids don’t cry for their mommies and want to go home ^^

MAN, i had some good BBQ yesterday! 8oD

  3. Yeah, they had a butt-load of fireworks on the post here. I was sitting home listening (can’t see ‘em, even upstairs) and trying not to flinch. Sometimes it still happens.

    I hate ’splosions.
